Hosting and Care Terms and Conditions
1. General Terms for Hosting & Care Packages
These terms outline the agreement for clients (“You” or “Client”) who sign up for any of our Hosting & Care Packages provided by Chris McMahon, trading as Very Simple Sites (“We” or “Us”).
By signing up for our Hosting & Care Package you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Services Provided
We offer different levels of Hosting & Care Packages, which may include:
- Website Hosting: Hosting your website on our server with 99.9% uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance.
- Maintenance & Support: Regular updates to WordPress core, plugins, and themes, along with basic troubleshooting and support.
- Security: Regular backups, malware protection, and monitoring.
- Content Updates: Simple content updates, such as text changes or adding blog posts (complex updates are billed separately at our hourly rate).
- Premium Themes/Plugins: Licensing and updates for premium themes and plugins, if applicable.
2. Client Responsibilities
- Content: You are responsible for the timely provision of any content or information we request.
- Domain Name Management: It is your responsibility to ensure your domain name remains active and renewed. We are not liable for any domain name expiration.
- Security: You must follow our recommended security practices, including using strong passwords and keeping your devices secure.
3. Payment & Billing
- Payments for Hosting & Care Packages are due monthly, quarterly, or annually (depending on your selected plan).
- Late Payment: If payment is not received within 30 days, we reserve the right to suspend your hosting services.
4. Refund Policy
Hosting and care services are provided on a subscription basis. We do not offer refunds once a billing period has commenced. You may cancel your service with a 30-day notice, but no refunds will be issued for unused time.
5. Service Availability & Uptime
We strive to ensure that your website is available 99.9% of the time during each billing cycle. Scheduled maintenance, which will be communicated in advance, is not included in this calculation.
6. Email Deliverability
While we make reasonable efforts to ensure email notifications (e.g., from contact forms or password resets) are delivered, we cannot guarantee delivery due to factors outside our control (e.g., spam filters, email provider issues).
7. Changes & Additional Work
If you require changes or updates outside the scope of the Hosting & Care Package, we will bill at our current hourly rate. This includes troubleshooting third-party software or plugins not installed by us.
8. Liability
We will perform services according to industry standards but do not guarantee that services will be error-free. We are not responsible for any damages or losses arising from interruptions to your website’s availability, unless caused by gross negligence.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days’ written notice. We reserve the right to terminate services if there is a breach of these terms, including failure to pay.

By signing up for our Hosting & Care Package, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
